Le Mans - 1986

The first lap of the 1986 Le Mans 24 hour race. This was in the days of the group C monsters and a Mulsanne straight with no chicanes. This clip is a reminder of the way Le Mans used to be, it's nice to see a field of cars that run of petrol too.....

Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale

I've always had a soft spot for this car and here is why. When it launched in 1968 it was the most expensive production car in the world costing $17,000 which was 6 times the average price of a regular car. The engine was designed as an out and out race unit featuring a dry sump, over square fuel injected 2 litre V8. The engine had a redline of 10,000 rpm and produced 230bhp, the race version produced 270bhp. I love how the lines of the car flow and the classic Italian colour combination really finishes it off.
